Andre Kim holds fashion show in Wuxi

WUXI, China -- Korea's top designer Andre Kim staged his 10th fashion show on Thursday, 160 kilometers west of Shanghai. It was attended by an audience of 6,000 spectators.

Under the title "Fantasy of Four Seasons", Kim presented a total of 170 works that highlighted the beauty and color of each of the four seasons.

The 71-year-old designer showed his symbolic fashion that often delivers the message of everlasting love and romanticism at the International Sports Center in the heart of Wuxi.

The city, which is emerging as a "Little Shanghai", is experiencing rapid economic development and is famed for its historic attractions. It plans to boost its textile industry by building a fashion and logistic hub.

The show was designed to celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 15th anniversary of Korea-China diplomatic ties. Among the guests were the mayor and other high-ranking officials from the city government and Huang Wei, president of the International Textile and Fashion Megamall.

Kim, famous for having star celebrities on his show, had two Korean Wave stars Park Sol-mi and Jo Hyun-jae, present his creations. Actress Park became a household name in the hit-drama "Winter Sonata" which won explosive popularity across the Asian region.

The show also featured "IVY", a K-pop diva with sex appeal, Sohn Ho-young, former member of boy band G.O.D., and 10 contestants of the 2005 and 2006 Miss Korea beauty pageant.

The fashion show was part of a three-day hallyu festival that featured some 20 Korean stars. During the event, Korean celebrities showcased their talents through a K-pop concert that featured K-pop singer Kangta on Wednesday.

Designer Kim has already put on several shows in foreign countries including China, the United States and Egypt.
