"Dr. Brain" is Apple TV+'s first original Korean language work and is an SF thriller based on popular Korean webtoon.

"Dr. Brain" is a story about a brain scientist's emotional journey with a commitment to new technologies that can access brain consciousness and memories, which is currently being filmed in Korea and will be released worldwide on Apple TV+ within this year.

The appearance of Lee Sun-kyun, who captivated viewers with the drama "My Mister" and became the first Korean actor to be named as the winner of the Screen Actors Guild Award for the first time in Korea for the movie "Parasite", is drawing attention.

After the movies "A Tale of Two Sisters", "A Bittersweet Life", "The Good, the Bad, the Weird", "I Saw the Devil", and "The Age of Shadows", this will be director Kim Jee-woon's first drama to be directed.

"The setting of accessing the brain and reading memories itself was interesting", director Kim Jee-woon said. "If we can see what others saw, heard, and experienced in the brain under the name of memory, the case can be reconstructed. The main character's journey to follow mysterious events, as if he were looking at them from their respective perspectives and putting together puzzles through their remembered moments, it is fun in the story itself, and I think we can show you a new and interesting genre of SF thriller".

"I also liked the theme of the main character being aware of the deficiencies and contradictions in him, recovering broken relationships, and growing up", he said. "I'm looking forward to collaborating with Apple, which has special know-how and respect for original content".
