Art and Culture

2012/04/27 | 117 views | Permalink | Source

And now it's time for our Michelle Kim to give us an update on the latest art and culture events.
From what I hear, she has brought us something we can do in our very own homes. So for those too tired to leave the house, this may be the perfect option for you.

Hello Michelle

[Reporter : ] Hello Conn-young

So what is this that we can do at home

[Reporter : ] Well I don't know about you all but I have certainly tried recording my own voice with the recording system on my computer. Singing, talking, composing-these recording systems on your computers are not just used by amateurs like me, but also by Indie artists as well.

Making music at home, also known as 'home recording', has been under the spotlight for many Indie musicians. With all of the technical advancements these days, musicians are able to express their creative energy without spending a lot of money.
In a room where, if you look outside the window, you can see houses after houses, music fills the atmosphere. It may seem like he's just voice training but Jung Cha-Sik, who's been a part of the Indie Music scene for 15 years, is working on songs for his new album.

Instead of expensive equipment and skilled bandmates, it is much more comfortable for Jung to work alone at home.

He wanted to allow himself the time and space to think of creative ideas during the times he spent alone.

정차식
[Interview : Jung Cha-Sik, Singer] "It's a freedom that I wasn't able to feel when I was a part of a band. It's fascinating and fun to try a lot of different things that just pop up in my head".

With the advancement of technology, anyone is able to express their ideas however they want and also put out high quality work.

Like writers and painters, singers can also make artwork at home alone. Home recording is becoming an alternative solution for musicians who want to release their creative energy without spending a lot of money.

Art and Culture 2

So you've tried this home recording process at home[Reporter : ] Well yes, I have used the Garage Band program on my lap top to record songs. I was in an a capella group in college so this program made it really easy for me to arrange music because I was able to split the voice parts with the program technology. And, I am no tech savvy person so if I can get around the program, I'm sure anyone can.

Well, I'm sure this is great news for the people who love to sing and compose but couldn't find the venue or the expenses. Well, what other interesting updates do you have for us[Reporter : ] As women, we all have the wanting to become beautiful and lovely. An exhibition held only by female artists portrays a woman's desire for love, happiness, and beauty. Here are the details.

As rookies learn sensitivity from more experience artists, and the experienced learn creative ideas from rookies, the exhibition shows artwork of female artists that have been in this field for 30 years.
The paintings of the white cat with a jeweled tiara, the red butterfly shows the sign of spring, and the flower decorated carriage carries the bride and groom across the pond.
All of these paintings carry the message of love and happiness.

[Interview : Jun Myung-ja, Artist] "In France, people have their weddings in front of a church, at a park-anywhere they want. I was inspired by these beautiful sights and incorporated them in my paintings".

From abstract art to realism, the female painters association will be exhibiting 80 artworks from different genres. From artists in their 20s to more experienced painters in their 70s, the wide range of age groups will also help convey the evolution of Korean modern paintings.

[Interview : Ha Min-soo, Artist] "This exhibition shows how female artists grew with the history of Korean modern art".

Although the style and theme may be different, all of the artworks carry a beautiful scent that shows a woman's hopes and dreams.

Art and Culture 3

[Reporter : ] The Root exhibition will be held at the Chosun Ilbo Art Museum until the 30th of this month.

As a woman I think it'll be very interesting to see how our thoughts and desires are portrayed into modern art.

[Reporter : ] It will. And the artworks definitely satisfy a woman's taste, with the pretty colors, designs, and of course, the message conveyed in the paintings. I think this will be a great exhibition to go with your girlfriends.

I absolutely agree with you. And where else can we go or make plans to go this weekend[Reporter : ] I have the events bulletin for you and it consists of three concerts by Bobby Kim, Lee So-ra, and Yoon Sang. All of these concerts may be perfect for a date with your significant others so take a look at this.
