Arthouse theater Seoul Art Cinema held a reopening ceremony yesterday in its new home at the Hollywood Theater in Chongno, downtown Seoul.

As part of its opening event, the theater screened its first film in the new venue _ Eric Rohmer's "A Tale of Springtime" _ after the ceremony.

To celebrate its reopening, the theater is holding a film festival titled "Cinematheque in Seoul" and will screen a total of 16 art films from today through May 1.

The film's director or a movie critic will introduce seven of the 16 movies. They include "A Woman Under the Influence" (1974) by John Cassavetes, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" (1966) by Sergio Leone and "Rio Bravo" (1959) by Howard Hawks.

Run by the organization Cinematheque Seoul, the theater opened in the basement of Art Sonje Center in Chongno-gu in 2002, and has since been a place for people to enjoy non-mainstream films. But the theater was unable to renew its lease and moved out of its former venue in April.
