Assembly for prevention of illegal film piracy

On the 22nd of November at Daehan Theater, the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) in association with the Korea Film Producers Association will hold an assembly calling upon national concern regarding illegal film duplication and damages caused by such act on the film industries. During this event, a new PR video will be released on the protection of film copyrights.

On this day, participants will include personnel from the government such as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as many other people in the film industry including distribution companies, movie theater related personnel etc. They are all gathered to publicize nationwide the seriousness of the illegal piracy problem.

The new PR video contains the best scenes from many Korean films suffering from illegal piracy happening on the internet. The video will be promoted via major film theaters, movie cable channels, videos and DVDs to draw people's continuous attention to the issue.

Those who worked hard during the last Pusan International Film Festival by launching the 'Green Mind Campaign' to actively raise voices against illegal piracy, and created awareness about the damages for the movie industry, will gather once more to continue and expand measures to deal with piracy.

Ahn Sung-ki, Lee Joon-gi and Uhm Tae-woong will be announced as ambassadors for the cause to fight piracy in order to secure the future of Korean cinema.
