On the 30th, kakakoTV's original drama "Once Upon a Small Town" (written by Baek Eun-kyeong-I and directed by Kwon Seok-jang) reported the news of Baek Sung-chul's casting.

"Once Upon a Small Town" is a chaotic country romance that unfolds when Han Ji-yool (Choo Young-woo), a Seoul native veterinarian who suddenly ends up in Heedong-ri, a rural village, meets Ahn Ja-yeong (Red Velvet Joy), a police officer from a rural police station. It is based on a popular web novel.

Baek Sung-chul plays Lee Sang-hyeon, the eldest son of the chief of Heedong-ri and the so-called 'human Heedong-ri' farming successor who was born and raised in Heedong-ri.

Lee Sang-hyeon is a so-called attractive man with a warm and sophisticated visual, which is rarely seen in Heedong-ri, a rural village in the middle of nowhere, as well as an overflowing sense, honest personality, and pride in his work. Lee Sang-hyeon feels more than a friend from some point towards Ahn Ja-yeong, a 'Hedong-ri insider' and a police officer. In the meantime, a tight love triangle between the three men and woman will begin due to Han Ji-yool, a veterinarian who suddenly appeares in Heedong-ri.

Baek Sung-chul will go on a second outing with kakaoTV's original version of "Once Upon a Small Town" following "How To Be Thirty" last year. In addition, he has steadily accumulated filmography by performing in big works such as "The Witch's Diner" and "Inspector Koo". Attention is focusing on what kind of new charm he will catch the eyes of viewers with in "Once Upon a Small Town".

Baek Sung-chul said, "It's an honor to be with the respectable director Kwon Seok-jang and great actors", adding, "The character Lee Sang-hyeon is a witty and honest character, and he is attractive with a sophisticated and fashionable aspect rather than simplicity. I will work hard to show you a new side of me that I haven't shown before through this work, so please look forward to it".

A total of twelve episodes of "Once Upon a Small Town" will be produced as mid-form dramas for about 30 minutes each time, and will be released in the second half of this year.
