Beer exports increase 56% in 3 years

Korean beer is being very well received overseasespecially in Asian countries where the popularity of Korean pop culture is going strong.

New figures show exports of local beer have risen 56.3 percent in the past three years.
According to the Korea Customs Service, Korean beer exports raked in 65.4 million dollars last year, compared with 41.8 million in 2009.
Last year's amount translates to 173.6 million bottles of beer sold.
By country, the biggest importer of Korean beer was Hong Kong accounting for 38.5 percent of beer exports, followed by Mongolia and Japan at 12.6 percent and 12.2 percent each.
