Berlin Festival Promoting Korean Cinema

The Berlin Film Festival has hosted an event to promote Korean cinema and the Asian film market.

Some 400 people including the chief of the festival's organizing committee attended Sunday the event hosted by South Korea's Busan International Film Festival and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.

In the opening ceremony, Busan festival president Kim Dong-ho said his city's gala from this year will serve as a venue for film marketing, and urged global participation in the Asian movie market.

Meanwhile, the Korean Film Council installed a booth at the Berlin festival's sample film market. Six South Korean distributors including CJ Entertainment have also done so for talks with European buyers.
