Bicycle gets 'boost' a character

A competition for character and character products themed on bicycle
About 100 million won in prize money to be provided to 8 selected works including 10 million won for new characters
To those who commute by bicycle tricycle of their childhood is remembered as the first private car in their life time. Bicycles, nowadays, are expensive due to their premium specification equivalent to that of a passenger car. It, however, makes headway honestly because a person on it pedals with analogue emotion.
A competition with the theme of bicycle attracts attention as means of transportation are gaining popularity as a source for content, i.e. animation 'Thomas and Friends', game 'Kart Rider', and movie 'Cars'.

Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA, President & CEO: Lee Jae-woong) hosts 'Bicycle Character Competition' to nurture creative ideas and various character designs, which are themed on bicycle.

To promote bicycle riding by making bicycle characters, this competition is designed to develop creative ideas, new characters, and product designs themed on bicycle.

A judging committee consisting of experts in character evaluates submitted works based on ingenuity, popularity, commercialization to choose a maximum of 8 works. Those selected will be given a total of 100 million won in prize money.
As for new characters themed on bicycle, 1 work will be awarded with grand prize with 10 million won in prize money. 1 work will be chosen as the first prize and two for excellence prize. In addition, 4 works will be accepted in this competition. As for bicycles which utilize characters and product designs, about 2 works will be selected, each of which will be given 45 million won in production expense. All the selected works will be awarded in Seoul Character Fair, Korea's largest character fair held in July.
