The 70th Cannes International Film Festival was held in Cannes, France on the 28th of May at 7PM. The Palm d'Or went to "The Square".

The judges table was made up of Pedro Almodobar (Spain), Will Smith (USA), Jessica Chastain (USA), Fan Bingbing (China), Anes Zaui (France) Maren Ade (Germany), Paolo Sorrentino (Germany), Gabriel Yared (France) and Park Chang-wook (Korea).

Hong Sang-soo went to Cannes with "Okja" and "The Day After" but Korean movies have returned home empty handed ever since director Lee Chang-dong's "Poetry".

The Screening Prize went to "120 Beats Per Minute" by Robin Kanfilo. The movie is about an international organization that fights AIDS.

The Best Actor and Actress went to Diane Kruger from "In The Fade" and Joaquin Phoenix from "You Were Never Really Here". Kim Min-hee didn't get anything.

"Loveless" took home the Judges Award. It's about a married couple that finds out their son is missing.

Screenplay went to "The Killing Of A Sacred Deer" and "You Were Never Really Here".
