"Dae Jang Geum" exhibit in Tokyo

A charity event inspired by the Korean TV drama "Dae Jang Geum" will be held in Tokyo May 2-14 at the Mitsukosi department store in Nihonbasi.

Hosted by Japan's public broadcaster NHK, it will display a full-scale replica of the royal kitchen set seen in the drama. Also on display will be the stunning original costumes and props sponsored by MBC, a Korean TV network which made the popular drama starring actress Lee Young-ae who portrayed a royal chef-turned-doctor.

Actor Im Ho who played the role of the king will participate in the opening ceremony and hold a news conference.

"Dae Jang Geum" is currently aired by NHK in Japan.

K-pop stars to sing for charity event

Korean superstars are to join the battle to save children in less developed countries who suffer from the effects of widespread hunger and disease.

As part of an event organized by the International Vaccine Institute to help fund supplies of vaccines to counter various epidemic diseases in some of the world's poorest nations, sexy diva Lee Hyo-ree, boy band Shinhwa and popular singer/actress Jang Nara will take to the stage during the Korea-China pop music festival at Macau's Main Stadium on May 27.

Along with the all-star Korean line up, Korean hip hop dance team Gambler Crew, Hollywood action star Jackie Chan and Hong Kong star Andrew Lau are also expected to join the event.
