Another round of the Korean Wave may be on the horizon, but with the focus shifting this time to the contemporary art world. A prestigious publisher in the U.K. has said that it plans to publish a book called "Korean Art: The Power of Now" next February to ride the wave.

TransGlobe will publish the book, while Thames & Hudson will be in charge of sales. The 308-page hardcover will contain interviews with 100 contemporary Korean artists and art critics, as well as information on leading Korean art galleries such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art and the Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art.

It is unprecedented for a foreign publisher to participate in a book on contemporary Korean art from the initial stage. Thames & Hudson, which will be in charge of distribution and marketing, is considered one of the world's three most authoritative publishers specializing in art, along with Britain's Phaidon and Germany's Taschen.

TransGlobe has been publishing a series of country-specific contemporary art books with Thames & Hudson since 2009. Books have been released on Iran, Turkey, Russia and some Arabic countries, while another on Brazil is due out in November.
