Times Square in Manhattan, where the ABC Studio is located, was packed with BTS fans, known as the ARMY, who gathered from the night before to watch the interview.

Hosts Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts introduced the boys as "the biggest boy band in the world".

When Strahan asked how they felt about their Idol music video garnering more than 200 million views, the group's leader RM said they did their best in making the song and that its success was all due to their fans.

BTS also talked about the speech they made at the UN on Monday. They were invited to an event as part of UNICEF's "Generation Unlimited", which is "dedicated to increasing opportunities and investments for children and young people". They urged young people to find their voice.

RM, who gave the speech on behalf of the band, said, "I think I did it okay. I was holding the paper and my hands were shaking. It was a nervous thing, but it was the best moment in my life".

BTS, dressed in colorful suits, performed Idol after the interview. The hashtag #BTSonGMA had more than 1.8 million tweets on the day, trending No. 1 worldwide.

On Tuesday, BTS made an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". The show, hosted by actor and comedian Fallon, is one of the most popular programs on NBC.

Fallon mentioned that tickets for their concert at Citi Field in New York sold out in 10 minutes and asked what about the band's next goal. They said they want to go to the Grammys.

BTS has appeared on numerous popular shows on the U.S. networks, including "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" on ABC, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and "America's Got Talent".
