BTS Make TIME Cover

BTS will appear on the cover of TIME magazine's forthcoming issue.

The online version of the magazine featured them as the "next generation leaders" ahead of the release of its Oct. 22 print edition.

The magazine described BTS as "the most popular boy band in the world".

"Like The Beatles and One Direction before them, [they serve] up a mania-inducing mix of heartthrob good looks and ear-worm choruses, alongside dance moves in the vein of New Kids on the Block and NSYNC", it wrote.

They are "the first Korean act to sell out a U.S. stadium... without catering to Western audiences", the magazine added.

The news immediately triggered a rush of orders for the edition. "Some 2,000 pre-orders for the edition were made here on Thursday alone, just five hours after the cover of the magazine was released on TIME, and all 13,000 copies were sold out since pre-orders started on Monday", online bookstore Yes24 said on Thursday.
