The album's distributor said Thursday the pre-order volume for the album "Map of the Soul: 7" between Jan. 9 and 15 reached 3.42 million, the largest ever for a Korean album. The figure beats BTS' own record of 2.68 million copies, set by their previous album "Map of the Soul: Persona" last year.

"Map of the Soul: 7" has topped Amazon's CD and Vinyl Pre-orders chart for eight days in a row since it became available on Jan. 9.

BTS will drop one of the tracks from the album on Friday ahead of the worldwide release of the full album on Feb. 21.
