"Camilla" Is a Webdrama About Government Officials

Yeosu government officials created a webdrama about the pain, the conflict, and the resolutions of the descendants of the 'Yeosun case' that occurred in 1948 entitled "Camilla".

The city of Yeosu announced on the 25th that the poster premiere of the web-drama "Camilla" was going to be held on the 9th of April. This drama helped the government workers of Yeosu write the scenario, star as the cast and solve the conflicts surrounding the 'Yeosun case'.

The leading characters of are Jung-woo, a wannabe painter who only draws the flower of Camilla, which is a pattern of commemoration and Min-ah, a young businesswoman. Jung-woo is the descendant of his grandfather who was responsible for the shooting, and Min-ah is the descendant of a victim of the shooting. Together, they overcome their families' opposition and painful history to end up getting married.

"Camilla" is made up of five 45-minute episodes starting with "Memory Recurrence", "Fateful Encounter", "We Are One", "Oblivion Times" and "Resolution and Forgiveness".

The drama features "Mansung-ri Brothers' Cemetery", which shot and burned 125 citizens as well as Odong-do, Sado, Chudo, Yeojaman, Sumdalchun, Marae-san, Ungcheon Beach, prehistoric monument park, sea of Yeosu, and the Angel Murals Village.

Yeosu plans on releasing the drama on YouTube, Afreeca TV, Facebook and others.

Kim Sang-wook, the tourism marketing director who wrote the scenario said, "We commemorate the 70 years of the Yeosun Case through this web-drama. Yeosu is famous for its ocean at night, but we hope people remember that it is also an area of painful modern history".
