Cannes Film Festival to invite Korean cinema 'THE BOW'

Following Berlin and Venice, Korean film-maker Kim Ki-duk makes inroads into the Cannes Film Festival, scheduled to be held on next month in France.

CineclickAsia said that his 12th cinema 'The Bow' has been invited to the 'Noteworthy Line of Vision' section, one of the official sections at the 58th Cannes International Film Festival.

With this, director Kim is assessed to have come to make a conquest of consecutively three renowned film festivals following the two time's 'Director Award' with 'Samaria' at the 54th Berlin Film Festival and with 'Bin Jip' at the 61th Venice Film Festival respectively.

At this section, awards such as 'Prix Un Certain Regard', 'Prix du Regard Original', and 'Prix du Regard vers l'Avenir, are confered.

To date, cinema 'The Bow' was presold with a sales price of about $700,000 to a total of 13 countries such as England, Spain, Argentina, Benelux, Greece, France, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Poland, Russia, Swiss, and Germany.

As the cinema is invited to the Cannes Film Festival, additional sales outlook is bright at Cannes, CineclickAsia said.
