Cha In-pyo Sings "Dokdo Is Our Land" at Press Conference in Taiwan

Actor Cha In-pyo, who visited Taiwan on April 12 to promote his latest drama "The Desire to Steal", performed his rendition of the song "Dokdo Is Our Land" in front of a large group of reporters at a press conference. "The Desire to Steal" premiered on Taiwan's Star TV on April 4.

Cha sang Jeong Kwang-tae's "Dokdo Is Our Land" when the emcee of the press conference requested him to sing a Korean song while he was showing reporters how to mix Korean bibimpap (boiled rice mixed with vegetables and hot chili sauce). The audience applauded Cha's passionate performance during which he clenched his fists with emotion. The press conference was shown on Star TV.

Upon learning what the song was about, the Taiwanese media praised Cha as a patriot. Cha reportedly was wearing a Korean-made suit and used only Korean-made accessories and products during his visit. Members of Cha's fan clubs in both Taiwan and Korea posted the videoclip of Cha singing on the Internet in a bid to publicize the actor's love for the Dokdo Islets.

"The Desire to Steal", in which Cha plays the lead, is about a thirty-something entrepreneur who falls in love with an 18-year-old girl. Cha demonstrated his indisputable professionalism as an actor by speaking fluent Chinese in the drama.
