Singer and actress Sung Yu-ri will be in a new film, "Sister".

This movie is an independent film and will be based on the issue of family violence. The main character, Yoonhee works as the assistant cook in a school cafeteria. Seong will show a dark serious side of her acting through this character who has closed her heart toward the world.
The story will show a high school student who meets Yoonhee and find healing and relief from this family pain. Seong said that she always wanted to do a character that she had never acted before and has challenged herself for this role.
After this movie, she will come back to the screens through a drama.
가수 출신 연기자 성유리가 영화 '누나'로 컴백한다.
성유리는 장편 독립영화 '누나'(영화제작소 정감)에서 결손 가정의 가정 폭력에 시달리며 학교 식당 보조일로 어렵게 살아가는 여주인공 '윤희' 역을 맡았다.
'윤희'는 세상을 향해 마음을 닫은 폭력 피해자로, 이번 영화에서 성유리는 그간 보여준 청순한 이미지와는 다른 어둡고 무거운 캐릭터를 소화할 예정이다.
영화 '누나'는 가정 폭력의 상처를 지닌 여주인공이 같은 처지에 있는 한 고등학생을 만나 치유와 구원을 찾기 위해 애쓰는 스토리를 담은 작품이다.
성유리는 이번 작품의 출연에 대해 "지금까지 안 해본 캐릭터를 해보고 싶었고 도전하는 의미로 작품을 선택했다"며 "주변에서 대중적인 작품을 권했지만 흥행에만 신경 쓰지 않고 나의 다른 연기에 도전해보고 싶었다"고 밝혔다.
이번 영화를 마친 후 성유리는 하반기나 내년 초 드라마로 다시 복귀해 대중들과도 만날 계획이다. '누나' 촬영과 병행해 드라마 차기작에 대한 출연 여부 논의도 함께 진행할 예정.
한편, '누나'는 오는 30일 크랭크인해 한 달 정도 서울의 한 고등학교와 낙후 주거지역에서 촬영될 예정이다.
