Cheating Husband to Pay W327 Million to Anchorwoman Wife

A court has ordered the husband of MBC newscaster Kim Joo-ha to pay her more than W300 million for cheating on her.

The Seoul Western District Court ruled on Sept. 19 in favor of Kim after she filed a suit against her husband, who pledged on paper years ago to give her W327 million (US$1=W1,045) as an apology for his unfaithfulness.

According to court documents Kim, who married the broker in 2004, caught him cheating in 2009, and he pledged to compensate her.

The money includes the rent and living expenses he gave to his mistress over two years.

But Kim's husband later reneged on the pledge, and Kim filed the suit to retrieve the money after she filed for divorce in October last year.
