Childbirths in Korea Grew for 6 Consecutive Months This Year: Report

The number of babies born in Korea rose for six consecutive months this year, primarily due to a corresponding increase in the number of marriages in the last two years.
According to Statistics Korea on Monday, the number of babies born in the May to October period was 42-thousand, up 9-percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
The pace of growth in October was the fastest since January of last year.
