Chinese Prefecture to Get Korean TV, Radio

Korean-language satellite TV and radio from next year will air in China's autonomous Korean prefecture of Yanbian.

The TV channel will air news, foreign programs and Chinese soap operas 16 hours a day with both Korean and Chinese subtitles.

The 24-hour radio station will broadcast some 20 programs in Korean only including news and entertainment.

The TV and radio broadcasts are expected to eventually spread to other major cities in China such as Beijing and Shanghai.
