Cho Byeong-kyu's agency HB Entertainment said on the 17th, "Right after requesting a complaint and investigation to seek punishment for illegal acts against Cho Byeong-kyu, the writer of the false post contacted us to admit it was false and apologized".

The agency explained, "We were initially responding strongly to all possible legal procedures, but we canceled the legal action after receiving a promise not to commit any illegal acts again as the false posting writer reflected on his mistake and expressed his intention to seek leniency several times".

However, the agency warned, "We will respond strongly in the event of similar cases or other situations that add to the damage to our actors".

On the 16th, someone made an online post saying he was verbally abused by Cho Byeong-kyu during lunch time while studying in New Zealand. "There are quite a few evidence and witnesses who went to the same school, and I don't have any concerns about the charges", the writer said. "I only told the truth, and I promise to take responsibility for all damages that Cho Byeong-kyu suffered if otherwise".

In response, Cho Byeong-kyu's agency said, "We have officially requested a police investigation to hold those who spread false information responsible. We will no longer wait and see about the crime of mass-producing and spreading malicious rumors about our actors".

Cho Byeong-kyu was once embroiled in allegations of school violence after gaining popularity with JTBC's "SKY Castle" in 2018. At the time, Cho Byeong-kyu denied, saying, "I was recognized as a delinquent just for the reason that I acted but none of that is true".
