Cinema Attendance Continues to Fall Due to Coronavirus

Cinema attendance is continuing to fall amid the coronavirus epidemic with the daily figure below 100,000 even during the weekend.

According to the Korean Film Council, the number of moviegoers on March 21 was 72,679, down nearly 30,000 from 102,321 on March 14, after falling to 89,076 on March 15.  

Weekday attendance hit its lowest point in 16 years on March 16, at 36,447.

The film industry around the world is facing a slump with many productions halted or delayed.
