CJ E&M released a ''Mutual Cooperation' regarding a healthier working environment in the broadcasting industry. Its main points are reformulation of irregular workers in broadcasting and producing, increase of service costs, and reinforcement of employment security.

Therefore 270 or so employees have been reformed or hired so far and this is 91% of the total dispatched staff last year and 15% of CJ E&M's total number of employees. In the first half of this year, it will establish an internal system to manage the history of the writers and help to establish a fair compensation system and manage systematic career management.

In addition, CJ &M established the enforcement of written service contracts for broadcast artists and authors who are currently in contract with the company. It is a part of building an environment in which writers can fully immerse themselves in their work by establishing a clear compensation system based on contracts and improving practices that are not paid in the broadcasting period due to broadcasting companies or external circumstances.

In addition, CJ E & M will implement the "Agreement on Standardization of Broadcasting Program Production Standard" recommended by the government beginning April 1 for mutual growth with outsourcing companies. The standard contract is to recommend the improvement of the treatment of the staff directly employed by the outsourcing company that contracts with CJ E & M by making a labor contract complying with the minimum wage law, prohibiting long hours of work, applying
for social insurance, non-personal treatment, and more.

In addition, to prevent unexpected accidents and improper treatment of staff at the production site, the company will also provide accident insurance for the staff members of the production for each program, a guide for prevention of sexual
harassment, bullying and safety accidents to be distributed to performers and staff, anonymity to improve opinions on the environment or to express grievances and QR stickers, and provide off-line counseling services.

Previously, MBC announced a 'Mutual Cooperation in Content Creation' to build a horizontal partnership with outsourcing companies. Win-win cooperation plans include strengthening human rights protection for outsourcing personnel, increasing
production costs and personnel expenses, and gradual expansion of copyright and profit distribution.

CJ E&M claims that it will come up with further measures to develop a win-win environment within the broadcasting industry. It also claims it will create and spread more competitive Hallyu contents by laying the foundation for industrial development based on a win-win partnership among industry players, broadcasting writers, and freelance directors.
