Crazy Bird Studio's The Mosses bags the first prize in 2007 DIGICON 6+3 Korea Awards

The 2007 DIGICON 6+3 Korea Awards, hosted by TBS, was held last September 5 at KOCCA in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul.

Already on its ninth year, DIGICON 6+3 Awards ("6" is TBS's channel number) holds preliminary competitions in Korea, India, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand. The grand prix winners from these seven countries/districts are invited to the final competition in Japan.

The Mosses, this year's DIGICON 6+3 Awards grand prix winner in Korea, is a four-minute digital-cutout work that conveys the importance of the environment through the daily life of the "Moss" family, who live on the narrow crevice between sidewalk blocks. The creator of the winning work received a testimonial and KRW 1 million, and will be invited to participate in the 2007 DIGICON 6+3 Main Awards in Japan on September 29.

The second and third prizes were given, respectively, to Way (Director: Kim, Seon-Yeong, Sangmyung University Graduate School) and Muscle Man (Director: Kwak, Ki-Hyuk, KNUA). The fourth prize (the Hewlett Packard prize) and the fifth prize went to The Life (Director: Ryu, Jin-Ho) and Cloud Bread (DPS Planning Div.), respectively.

Five honorable mentions were likewise chosen, namely: A Starry Night (Kim, Mi-Jin, Kaywon School of Art and Design), Kulkuri Missing Case (Lee, Na-Ra, Kaywon School of Art and Design), Tube Angel (Jang, Seung-Wook, Kaywon School of Art and Design), Soeyoun (Kim, Jin-Man), and For You, the Most Beautiful Person (Lee, Su-Jin, Kaywon School of Art and Design).

All the creators of the aforementioned works will be invited to participate in the Digital Creative Competition 2007 in Japan, which will be hosted by DCAj.
