D.C. Embassies' EuroAsiaShorts Film Festival 2009 Accepting Entries

EuroAsiaShorts, an annual Washington D.C. short film festival collaboratively produced by local embassies, is currently accepting entries from nine participating countries, including Korea.

The annual event, free and open to the public, will run for six nights, June 1-6 2009. Each evening compares different cultural perspectives on a common theme by presenting a selection of short films from several countries, screened at embassy cultural centers in Washington D.C. Each screening will be followed by a discussion with film professionals and a reception.

The themes for this year's festival are Generations and Aging, Cities and Urban Environments, Humor, Fears and Phobias, and Beauty. The participating countries are Korea, Japan, China, India, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the United States.

The Korean Embassy will host one evening of films during the festival at the KORUS House. For a complete finalized schedule of dates and films, visit http://www.dynamic-korea.com in May, following the selection process.

The festival, which has been running for several years as the Asian European Short Film Showcase, welcomes short works (under 30 minutes) from all short film-makers and students in the participating countries, in any language.
