"Dark Figure of Crime" Is Daring

Sometimes, reality can be shaped into film. However, the greed to do better puts the film in a precarious position when taking risks. "Dark Figure of Crime" is the birth of criminal true story with the reality we've all been waiting for.

"What will I do by beating someone like you? But it'll be embarrassing for me as a detective if I just let you go".

Detective Hyung-min (Kim Yun-seok) is from a well-off family. He's not the hungry, messy-haired, and ragtag detective normally seen before. He has no family to feed. He dresses neatly in a shirt, likes to play golf, and drives a sedan. However, he's a detective who solves mysterious crimes.

The murderer, Tae-oh (Ju Ji-hoon) claims that he's killed seven people. There are victims but there are no bodies, no reports, and no investigations. Hyung-min knows he's cleverly mixing lies and truth, but doesn't give up. However, the statute of limitations is almost up and the investigation comes to a halt as there isn't enough evidence.

The movie is based on a true story which makes one doubt this really happened. The 'incident' was even introduced on a TV show back in 2012. The truth of the story is so great that nothing was added; not the characters, not the story and not the even the performance, to season the movie to make it greater than it already is on its own.

Everyone is glad to see Kim Yoon-seok and Ju Ji-hoon together. They get along so well and they blend with each other like water of colors. They go along with the trend of multi-casting these days and they are the best example yet.

The movie is tense enough without fancy action, without the typical stereotype criminal investigative movie pattern and the movie tends to show more characters. It is a whole new kind of thrill.. The movie comes out in October with a running time of 110 minutes.
