According to the Korean Films Commission, the film "Dark Figure of Crime" gathered 38,051 viewers on just the 23rd alone and beat "First Man" with an accumulation of 3,472,278.

"Dark Figure of Crime" was released on the 3rd but started off in second place because of "Venom", a Marvel Heroes movie. However, word of mouth spread and in the eight days since its release, it took first place. However, Hollywood film "First Man" came out on the 18th and "Dark Figure of Crime" was pushed back to second place, but then came back up on the 22nd.

"Dark Figure of Crime" is based on a true story that happened in Busan, Korea about a killer who confesses to seven more crimes in prison. The motive was broadcast on the SBS TV show "We Want to Know" in 2012.

"Dark Figure of Crime" focuses on the psychology of the detective and the killer instead of the cruelty of the crime and instead of exhibiting pain it shows the will and the persistence of the detective and the morality behind his actions.

Meanwhile, "First Man" gathered 29,046 with a cumulative viewership of 486,197. Third place is "Miss Baek" with 498,220, "Venom" 3,718,592, and "A Star Is Born" 288,324.
