"Detective K" invades the United States

Korean hit movie "Detective K" will invade the shores of America! According to Showbox, the film's international distributor, the comedy-mystery movie will premiere in Los Angeles on March 4. On March 11, it will be screened in selected CGV and AMC theaters in the following cities: San Francisco, New Jersey, Atlanta, Seattle, Chicago, Washington, North Wales, Dallas and Hawaii.
"Detective K", helmed by veteran comedy director Kim Seok-yoon, had consistently taken the top spot at the Korean box office for three weeks in a row, raking in US$30 million since its release in January 27. Now on its 5th week, "Detective K" continues to remain in the top 5 with more than 4.5 million admissions to date.

Comedy mystery film "Detective K" is set in Korea's late Joseon era. Acclaimed actor Kim Myung-min stars in the lead role as the nation's top detective who was commissioned by the King to investigate murders suspected to hide corruption activities of high-ranking government officials. The detective's trusted sidekick who doubles as dog seller Seo Pil is portrayed by veteran actor, Oh Dal-soo. Actress Han Ji-min who has been known to play sweet and innocent roles in the past, transforms into seductive business woman Han Gaek Ju, who is believed to be a key figure in the mysterious case.

The film will be shown in original (Korean) audio with English subtitles. CJ Entertainment holds the distribution rights in North America. The screenings across the United States marks the movie's commercial release in the international arena. Showbox says, "Detective K" will also have its theatrical release in Canada, Taiwan and Australia.
