Director Hong Sang-soo resurfaced for the first time since his grand passion for actress Kim Min-hee became public.
Hong (56) attended the Marseille International Film Festival in France on Tuesday where he won an honorary grand prize.
The festival is holding a retrospective of 17 of Hong's films until next Monday.
The director's whereabouts have been a mystery since his extramarital affair with the actress, who is over two decades his junior, was revealed last month. It is not known whether Kim accompanied him to the festival.
The couple met while filming "Right Now, Wrong Then" last year and Hong left his wife and children nine months ago.
They are apparently staying in the U.S. and have not commented on the reports.
