This charity movie gathering will show director Lee Chang-dong's "Oasis",' a melodrama about a socially maladjusted ex-con who falls in love with a woman with cerebral palsy. Hong Jong-du (played by Sol Kyung-gu) is released from a prison and meets Han Kong-ju (by Moon So-ri), the daughter of the man he was convicted of killing, and they start to love each other. The film focuses on family dynamics as well as on the treatment of the disabled in Korean society through their relationship. The film won the director the best director's prize at Venice Film Festival in 2002. The session is held every second and fourth Wednesday. The venue is near Anguk Station on subway line 3.
