Cine-Cafe Evenings

At 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 26

Somerset Palace Seoul

This charity movie session will screen the 2003 hit crime thriller "Memories of Murder". Based on a real-life serial-murder case in the 1980s, the film takes the format of a mystery thriller but grapples with the social constraints of its times. The two detectives in charge of the case, played impressively by Song Kang-ho and Kim Sang-kyung, are forced to work within the limitations of their environment, as well as their own limitations and mistakes. This uncertainty pervades throughout the film and gets even stronger when a suspect is found. While director Bong Joon-ho refrains from outright criticism, there's a sense of quiet indignation that takes the thoroughly entertaining film to a deeper level. Located near Anguk Station on subway line 3. Admission to each session is 10,000 won, which will be donated to a local charity organization. Details: 011-748-1972 or Open the link

A movie centered on the concept of family was released in September 2004. Its poster was quite impressive.
