"Dong Yi" maintains steady hold at No. 1 for third week

MBC's historical drama "Dong Yi" saw a decline in ratings this week but maintained its lead as the No. 1 TV series on Monday and Tuesday nights for the third consecutive week.

Figures from TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Wednesday indicated that "Dong Yi" brought in viewership ratings of 26.4 percent on September 13 and the following night, the figure rose by more than half a percent, amounting to a decrease of 2.4 percent compared to last week.

Data released by AGB Nielsen Media Research reported that the historical series also showed a slight decline compared to last week, scoring ratings of 24.5 percent on both nights.

This week's episode focused on how Suk-jong (Ji Jin-hee) struggles in choosing between Dong Yi (Han Hyo-joo) and Jang Hee-bin (Lee So-yeon) while both female characters continue on with their antagonizing relationship.

Following close behind in second place was SBS' series "Giant" with ratings of 23.4 percent on September 13 and 24.8 percent the next day, according to TNmS' chart, while seeing ratings of 23.6 percent on Monday and 24.2 percent on Tuesday on AGB's polls.

The new KBS series "Sungkyunkwan Scandal", starring Park Yoo-chun, Park Min-young and Song Joong-ki, took the No. 3 spot with viewership ratings in the seven to eight percent range.
