Artificial flavoring and high sodium content mean noodles are best enjoyed sparingly, but a few tweaks to the recipe can make them a bit healthier.
Adding about half a cup of milk when boiling the noodles increases calcium content that can help with sodium excretion. Those who don't like milk can try broccoli, dried shrimp or tofu instead.
Instant noodles also go well with sweet pumpkin, rich in potassium and fiber, and kelp which contains alginic acid as they help with digestion and sodium excretion.
