Trick or treat! Halloween may not be a widely celebrated holiday here, but more and more people are taking this Western holiday as a chance to enjoy unusual parties in special costumes.

For those seeking some spooky events, these hotels offer the perfect places with ghostly decorations.

Millennium Seoul Hilton's English-style bar Oak Room is hosting a month-long promotion, which will be highlighted with the Halloween party on Oct. 31.

The bar will be transformed into a ghoulish den fit for evening folly - Jack-o'-lanterns will cast an eerie glow and staffers will be dressed up in costumes. The Oak Room International Duo will perform, while a lucky draw will be prepared with prizes such as vouchers for restaurants and accommodations.

During October, two special Guinness beer sets are available: Set A (45,000 won) includes two pints of Guinness draft beer, one snack dish and one commemorative T-shirt; and Set B (80,000 won) features four pints of the beer and the other benefits.

Imperial Palace Seoul's lounge bar Zoe holds a Halloween party on Oct. 27 from 7 p.m. through 2 a.m. next morning.

Staff of the bar will dress up like witches and ghosts. With DJ's music, various events will be prepared to give out vouchers for buffet meals and accommodation, such as dance contest, lucky draw and best costume contest. Visitors can also have spooky makeup put on them by bar staffers. The entrance fee is 20,000 won including tax and service charge.

At the hotel's members' bar Maestro, another party will be held on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. Live music, staffers dressed up as various oriental ghosts, and many other events will be available.

JW Marriott Seoul's Bar Rouge will host two parties on Oct. 26 and 27.

Under the theme of "movie heroes and villains", the bar will present a variety of fun-packed events, including club music from DJs, cocktail shows, and prizes for the best-dressed partygoers and dancing king and queen. Lucky draws will feature prizes such as dining and accommodation vouchers.

Makeup artists will be on hand offering face-painting, while tarot card reading will be available for 1,000 won, with the proceeds of the fortune-telling being donated to Korea Student Aid Foundation.

The parties will begin at 8:30 p.m. with admission fee at 45,000 won. Guests will get two free welcome drinks and a snack box, while the first 150 people to purchase the tickets will have samples of three products from cosmetic brand Benefit.

The Ritz Bar at the Ritz-Carlton Seoul will hold parties from Oct. 29 to 31.

Events will include photo sessions with bar staffers in ghostly makeup and tarot card reading. Guests ordering set menus will get special Halloween cookies, pumpkin porridge and pumpkin pie.

Bartender Eom Do-hwan will unveil three special cocktails: bourbon whiskey-based "Hello Pumpkin" features creme de cacao and pineapple juice; "Lollipop" is a vodka-based green apple cocktail; and "Sexy Vampire" is a gin-based tipple in blood-red color.

At Hyatt Regency Incheon, Halloween party is for children.

On Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m. in the hotel's Regency Ballroom, child guests will be able to enjoy various activities such as mask-making, best dresser and best dancer contests and face-painting. A sweet dessert table will welcome them as well. Best dressers will be given gifts including weekend dinner buffet vouchers.
