Lee Eun-joo, who took her own life on Tuesday at the age of 25, was enshrined at a crypt in Goyang City after being cremated at Byeokje Crematorium in Gyeonggi Province.

Some 200 fellow actors and film people attended her funeral at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

The pastor of the church Lee attended opened the service at 7:00 a.m., with the funeral starting from 7:40. Entertainers with whom she was close expressed their grief through funeral addresses and hymns. Moon Geun-young, a fellow actress who was with the same agency as the late star, read the funeral address.

"Her firecracker-like passion has ended, and she has left our side. We will remember her forever. She was always modest, warm, sincere and beautiful. Leave the burden and pain of this world behind, and take only the good memories, your warmth and beautiful heart with you", she said. On several occasions Moon was overcome with emotion and unable to continue.

Bada, who had kept a wake over the coffin for three days, repeatedly sang the song, "You were born to be loved", while mourners laid flowers. Weeping, Bada said, "We all loved Eun-joo. We shall be silent for her. Even if we can't speak, we shall all remember her".

An entertainment information program that focused on news of her death recorded viewer ratings of over 20 percent. According to Nielsen Media Research, MBC's "Section TV Entertainment News", which aired from 11:10 p.m., recorded ratings of 21.8 percent nationwide. TNS Media Korea gave 22.5 percent.

SBS's "Live Broadcast TV Entertainment", which ran two hours earlier, also recorded its highest viewer ratings ever. According to Nielsen Media Research, the show recorded a viewer rating of 16.2 percent, while TNS Media Korea put the figure at 17.8 percent.
