According to a reporter well-versed in the movie news, Song Hye-kyo is going to star in John Woo's mellow movie "Life and Death".

"Life and Death" was introduced as "1949". It was known domestically as Song Hye-kyo presented it with John Woo at Cannes, France in 2008. It was a surprise for everyone by a stop star and top director at the most unexpected location. However, news of the director stepping down and all productions being cancelled left nothing but disappointment in the fans and Song Hye-kyo.

Director John Woo doesn't even need an introduction. He is the one and only director who created the best 1990s Hong Kong movies "A Better Tomorrow" and "The Killer" as well as Hollywood's "Face Off" in 1997, "Missions Impossible 2" in 2000, "Bulletproof Monk" in 2003 and more.

Song Hye-kyo, John Woo and famous producer Terence Chang have come together again for the first time in 3 years since its announcement. Terence Chang is also managing Asian and other foreign markets for Song Hye-kyo. He is also preparing something else for her besides "Life and Death".

"Life and Death" is based on Shanghai in the 1930s about the changes that a woman who was born in a rich financial family, goes through for 60 years of her life. Song Hye-kyo takes on the main role and will display character that is modern, free and wise. She will act all in Chinese.

"Life and Death" has been prepared for 2 years with gritted teeth every since its first failure. It seems that Song Hye-kyo's role wasn't given up on because of her innocent yet sophisticated image.

The shooting will star in Shanghai and Taiwan at the start of next year. Song Hye-kyo will depart for this sometime this month.
