This year, a Korean broadcaster, MBC has much enjoyed the popularity of two female leading roles in drama, 'Sam-soon' and 'Geum-soon.' On top of that, the dramas are now expected to be key export items.

'My lovely Samsoon' - "My Name is Kim Sam-soon", finished its red hot 16-week run on July 21, together with 'Be Strong, Geum-Soon!', currently on air, have earned about US$ 4.2 million up to now.

According to MBC, 'My lovely Samsoon' - "My Name is Kim Sam-soon", which was even covered by foreign media including AP and BBC due mainly to such a huge popularity at home, has been exported to 12 countries in Asia such as Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and China as of early August with its sales of some US$ 2.61 million.

'Be Strong, Geum-Soon!' has gained US$ 1.6 million worth export sales in the Asian region as well.

Considering that 'My lovely Samsoon' - "My Name is Kim Sam-soon" was ended merely a month ago, and 'Be Strong, Geum-Soon!' is still on air, the exports will further grow.
