Film Exports Decline over 50 Percent in 2 Years

The nation's film exports have decreased by over 50 percent in the past two years.

In a report to the National Assembly, the Korean Film Council said the domestic movie industry's exports in 2006 posted 24 million U.S. dollars, down 68 percent from the previous year. In 2007, the export amount halved to 12 million dollars.

Moreover, the average export price of a Korean film peaked at 370-thousand dollars in 2005, fell to 110-thousand dollars in 2006, and then to 38-thousand dollars in 2007.
