Film Marathon Contest to Be Held

Cable channel Cinema TV will hold its second annual contest for watching movies non-stop without sleeping.

The contest, titled "2nd Challenge! Watching Films for A Long Time Without Sleep," will take place at the Scala Theater in Seoul on Feb. 25. The person who can watch movies for the longest period without closing their eyes for more than five seconds will be declared the winner.

Fifty Korean films will be screened continuously for the event. First prize is a trip to this year's Cannes Film Festival in France. The runner-up prize is a home theater system.

At last year's inaugural contest, the winner set the local record for watching movies without sleeping with 59 hours and 4 minutes. The Guinness Book of World Record is 70 hours and 1 minute.
