A couple of tourist spots in Gangneung and Pyeongchang in Gangwon Province have been flooded with visitors eager for a first-hand encounter with locations featured in a hit TV series that ended recently.

The supernatural rom-com "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" revolves around a goblin who is waiting for a woman to free him from the cycle of death and rebirth, which he has suffered passing through for 900 years.

The final episode aired last month, but ardent fans have taken to visiting the series' filming locations.

One of the most popular destinations is Yeongjin Beach in Jumunjin, Gangneung -- the spot where the main couple in the series first meets.

The beach has drawn about 100 visitors on weekdays and 500 on weekends.

Another spot that's been deluged with visitors is a trail through a forest of fir trees near Woljeong Temple in Mt. Odae, Pyeongchang, where the couple swear their love for each other.

The 1 km path from the temple's entrance is lined with over 1,800 fir trees, which are more than 80 years old. The site is at its most picturesque in winter, when the trees are covered with snow.
