Filmmakers Blast Cabinet OK of Quota Cut

Filmmakers and civic leaders are fuming over the Cabinet's approval of the cut in the domestic screen quota.

A civic preparatory committee against the quota cut and a free trade agreement with the United States on Tuesday blasted the Cabinet for selling off the nation's cultural sovereignty.

Protestors pledged to continue the fight to maintain the quota even after the cut takes effect from July 1st under a joint alliance with agricultural and labor groups.
