Free Animation Screening Commemorating SBA's 10th Anniversary

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Seoul Business Agency (SBA, President: Shim, Il-Bo) has launched "Free Animation Screening Commemorating SBA's 10th Anniversary", which will showcase Korean animation works for three days, from March 26 to 28, at Seoul Ani-Cinema.

The works that will be screened at Seoul Ani-Cinema are The Tale of Pumpkins, Colin the Unbeatable, and The White Seal. Seoul Ani-Cinema will screen each of them six times, for a total of 18 times.

Telling the story of ancestor spirits who visit the ceremony of the Hos in Pumpkin Town in Chungcheong-do and who end up hunting the kidnapper of the Hos' only son in five generations, The Tale of Pumpkins features traditional Korean characters, such as a stone grinder, a winnowing basket, a mortar, and a decocter, which can be easily found in the kitchens in rural towns in Korea, as well as traditional Korean tales. The Tale of Pumpkins was co-sponsored by Seoul Animation Center and EBS.

Colin the Unbeatable is the story of the brave seven-year-old prince Colin, who endeavors to frustrate Sir Lansbit's evil scheme of destroying the peace in Kingdom Hamullut. As opposed to the classic images of castles, princes, and princesses, Colin the Unbeatable is unique as it features atypical characters, such as a shy prince and a brave princess.

Boasting beautiful watercolor-style drawings, The White Seal follows the adventures of the six-year-old-girl Hyun, Ju-Ri and her younger brother Bori, who stumble upon a white seal with magical powers. Delivering the message of the preservation of nature and the protection of the environment, this animation was also co-sponsored by Seoul Animation Center and EBS as an excellent animation production support project.
