Free Outdoor Screening of "The Host" at Korean Culture Event in Virginia

In celebration of autumn, the season of abundance, the KORUS House of the Korean Embassy is holding a free outdoor cultural event open to the public which aims to introduce Korean culture and movies to Americans living in the Washington Metropolitan area.
The sights and sounds of Korean Culture Night will fill the Lake Accotink Park in Springfield, Virginia on September 15 beginning at 6:00 p.m., an event planned in conjunction with the Fairfax County Park authorities.
"The Host", a famously popular Korean monster movie recently released in the United States, will be shown on an outdoor screen, with plenty of lawn space for viewers. Its director, Bong Joon-ho, won praise for helping Korean cinema to break into foreign markets. The movie will be screened amid the beautiful scenery of Accotink Park. It is a great opportunity to see and experience Korean culture while enjoying the beauty of the park and its many walking trails.
The culmination of the summer season will be the KORUS Festival held two weeks later, September 28-30 in Annandale, Va. The 3-day event was organized by the KORUS House, a branch of the Korean Information Service in the United States, and the Korean Association of Greater Washington D.C.
Prior to the screening of the movie, the KORUS House plans to present a clip of the B-boy group Last for One, and several other video previews for the KORUS Festival at the end of the month. A Korean dance troupe will also put on a traditional dance show, as well as a variety of other Korean traditional arts performances, such as Samulnori.
Time: Sep. 15, Saturday from 5:45 PM to 10 PM
