Released in early 2011, the South Korean film "GLove"(글러브) about a hearing-impaired high school baseball team's journey to the national competition was a major box office hit. This May, the real-life team that inspired the film will travel to Washington DC for a series of friendly games with players from Gallaudet University's Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD), plus a free public screening of "GLove", which tells the story of the team's struggle to overcome disability and build a strong, successful.

The screening of "GLove" will take place Monday, May 9 at 7 p.m. in the Meyer Auditorium at the Smithsonian's Freer Gallery of Art (12th Street and Independence Avenue SW, Washington, DC). The 14-member team, coaches, and staff from Chungju Sung-Shim High School in South Korea will participate in a discussion with the audience after the screening. An RSVP is required (see below).

The uplifting film explores how-with the help of a frustrated pro player struggling to keep his own career alive-both coach and players learn the meaning of true determination, teamwork, and belief in oneself.

The South Korean team will also play a friendly baseball game with MSSD's team on Saturday, May 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. The game is open to the public, and parking is available on campus. No ticket or RSVP is required. For more information about the location, visit www.gallaudet.edu.
