Free Public Screening of Hit 2011 film "GLove", May 9, with the Real-life Team Inspiration

Released in early 2011, the South Korean film "GLove"(글러브) about a hearing-impaired high school baseball team's journey to the national competition was a major box office hit. This May, the real-life team that inspired the film will travel to Washington DC for a series of friendly games with players from Gallaudet University's Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD), plus a free public screening of "GLove", which tells the story of the team's struggle to overcome disability and build a strong, successful.

The screening of "GLove" will take place Monday, May 9 at 7 p.m. in the Meyer Auditorium at the Smithsonian's Freer Gallery of Art (12th Street and Independence Avenue SW, Washington, DC). The 14-member team, coaches, and staff from Chungju Sung-Shim High School in South Korea will participate in a discussion with the audience after the screening. An RSVP is required (see below).

The uplifting film explores how-with the help of a frustrated pro player struggling to keep his own career alive-both coach and players learn the meaning of true determination, teamwork, and belief in oneself.

The South Korean team will also play a friendly baseball game with MSSD's team on Saturday, May 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.
