Free Screening of 'The Admiral: Roaring Currents' for the Underprivileged

The film "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" is the most commercially successful film ever in Korea, drawing more than 17 million viewers thus far. As a way to return the immense praise that the film has received, its distributor decided to hold free screenings of the war movie to those who find going to the cinema too much of a luxury in their tough life.

CJ E&M said on Tuesday that the flick will be shown for free to the underprivileged, including children of low-income households. The free showings will start mid-September when the film leaves cinemas.

The first screening will be held on Sept. 16, inviting some 1,500 elderly people who live alone to their local CGV multiplex cinemas.
