He was scheduled to appear for the premiere of his movie "The X" in Centum City CGV but claimed he couldn't make it, the day before.

It was supposed to be his first public appearance in a long time since his discharge from the military, so many were disappointed.

Gang Dong-won's side said, "The BIFF asked for a tight favor so we had no choice but to cancel our plans".

"We were initially only to appear at the even on the 4th because his movie "KUNDO : Age of the Rampant" and BIFF clashed. We already notified them of our situation but the festival directors told us not to come at all if he wasn't going to be there for the Red Carpet event".

We weren't invited by the BIFF officially, but was suggested the GV event by CGV so we had to figure out transportation and accommodation problems ourselves. We were pretty surprised at the response we got from BIFF. This is a matter of communication with CGV and BIFF but we are getting the blame for it".

BIFF claims certain decisions must be reviewed before anything is said.

Meanwhile, BIFF opened up the event with the screening of the movie "The Blessing" and will be open for 10 days with 301 movies from 70 countries.

Netizens say, "It was all because of the Red Carpet?", "Does that mean if he stands on the Red Carpet, he has to be supported in everything?", "It's disappointing from a fan's point of view" and more.
