Gang Dong-won to Star in American Indie Film

Actor Gang Dong-won will star in an American disaster film, said his management agency YG Entertainment in a press release this week.

The indie film, "Tsunami LA" directed by Simon West -- best known for "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" (2001) -- tells the story of a massive tidal wave that hits Los Angeles, according to the film's distributor. The film is set for release sometime in 2019.

Shooting will take place in Britain and Mexico starting next year.

West recently told U.S. entertainment magazine Variety he is "very excited to be the one to present this accomplished actor to the rest of the world in such an exciting project".

Gang said, "I am looking forward to my new project".
